The Drunken Bean was founded by Ruth Croxford, Cade Gibson, Max Conrad, and Eileen Ye in February 2022. We met during a business class at the University of Vermont. This isn’t our first time working in a bar setting, but this is our first time owning and managing our own bar. Ruth has been in the bar industry for years and spent multiple years of her college education dedicated to bartending and bar managing on the side of her studies. In one of her recent business travels, she noticed how popular the nightlife was and realized it was a great chance to start her own business. She wanted to stand out from the rest of the bars that just tended to nightlife, so she planned to include the cafe in the morning to attract more customers. With their different skills, the group formed The Drunken Bean
